Women in Film & Television (UK) is the leading membership organisation for women working in creative media in the UK, and part of an international network of over 14,000 women worldwide. Members of their organisation come from a wide range of jobs spanning the entire creative media industry.
Their aim is to support, promote and celebrate the women in the industry, and so they produce a programme of free events throughout the year with strands including: WFTV Writers Group, Legal Breakfasts, Finance Breakfasts, Women in Tech Group, Meet the Commissioner, Filmmakers’ Breakfast Club, as well as one-off events, monthly networking drinks and one-to-one surgeries.
They run a mentoring scheme for mid-career women, collaborate with universities and industry bodies on research projects, lobby for gender equality, and every December they present a prestigious awards ceremony to celebrate the achievements of women in front of and behind the camera.
